Signs of Pancreatic Cancer You Should Never Ignore
Pancreatic cancer is often hard to detect early because symptoms can be vague. However, the following warning signs should not be ignored, especially if they persist or appear together:
1. Jaundice (Yellowing of Skin or Eyes)
- Often one of the earliest signs
- May be accompanied by dark urine, pale stools, and itchy skin
2. Unexplained Weight Loss
- Sudden or ongoing weight loss without changes in diet or activity
3. Persistent Abdominal or Upper Back Pain
- Pain may start in the upper abdomen and radiate to the back
- Often worse after eating or when lying down
4. Loss of Appetite or Early Fullness
- Feeling full after eating small amounts
- Ongoing lack of interest in food
5. Digestive Problems
- Nausea, bloating, gas
- Greasy, foul-smelling stools (from poor fat digestion)
6. New-Onset Diabetes or Sudden Worsening of Diabetes
- Especially in adults over 50 with no family history
7. Extreme Fatigue
- Persistent exhaustion that doesn’t improve with rest
8. Blood Clots or Leg Swelling
- Unexplained clots can sometimes be an early warning sign
When to See a Doctor
- Symptoms last more than 2–3 weeks
- Symptoms worsen over time
- You experience multiple signs together
- There’s a family history of pancreatic cancer
⚠️ Important Note:
These symptoms do not automatically mean cancer, but early medical evaluation can be lifesaving. Pancreatic cancer is most treatable when caught early.
