Here’s a simple homemade sandwich loaf that’s soft, slices cleanly, and is great for everyday sandwiches 🍞

Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
- 2 tbsp sugar or honey
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp oil or melted butter
- 1 cup warm milk or warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)
Instructions
- Activate yeast
Mix warm liquid, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy. - Mix dough
Add flour, salt, and oil. Mix until a soft dough forms. - Knead
Knead by hand 8–10 minutes or with a mixer 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic. - First rise
Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour or until doubled. - Shape loaf
Punch down dough, shape into a log, and place in a greased loaf pan (9×5 inch). - Second rise
Cover and rise 30–45 minutes, until dough is about 1 inch above the pan. - Bake
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30–35 minutes, until golden and sounds hollow when tapped. - Cool
Remove from pan and cool completely before slicing.
Tips
- Brush top with oil or butter after baking for a soft crust
- For extra softness, replace ¼ cup water with milk
- Store at room temperature 2 days or freeze sliced
