Here’s an easy dairy-free crêpes recipe that works for both sweet and savory fillings 🥞
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1¼ cups non-dairy milk (almond, soy, oat, or coconut beverage)
- 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for sweet crêpes)
- 1 tbsp neutral oil (vegetable, canola, or melted coconut oil)
- ¼ tsp salt
- Optional: ½ tsp vanilla extract (for sweet crêpes)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth.
- Add non-dairy milk, oil, sugar (if using), salt, and vanilla.
- Gradually whisk in the flour until the batter is thin and lump-free (like heavy cream).
- Let the batter rest 10–15 minutes (helps texture).
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly oil it.
- Pour about ¼ cup batter into the pan, swirl to coat thinly.
- Cook 30–60 seconds until edges lift, flip, and cook another 20–30 seconds.
- Repeat with remaining batter.
Filling ideas (dairy-free)
- Sweet: fruit + maple syrup, jam, dairy-free chocolate spread
- Savory: sautéed veggies, mushrooms, spinach, avocado, hummus
- Protein: eggs, chicken, tofu, or beans
Tips
- If batter is too thick, add 1–2 tbsp more non-dairy milk
- For gluten-free, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend
