Yes! This is one of those “why didn’t I do this sooner” fixes 😄
And it really does take about 30 seconds.
🧼 Clean Your Iron in 30 Seconds
You’ll need:
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
- A soft cloth or paper towel
- (Optional) cotton swab
The 30-second method
- Unplug the iron and let it cool slightly (warm, not hot).
- Dip the cloth in white vinegar.
- Wipe the soleplate firmly—burn marks and residue lift almost instantly.
- Use a cotton swab dipped in vinegar to clean steam holes if needed.
- Wipe once more with a clean damp cloth.
Done. ✨
For heavier buildup (still quick)
- Sprinkle a little baking soda on the vinegar-damp cloth
- Gently scrub
- Wipe clean
⚠️ What NOT to do
❌ Don’t use metal scouring pads
❌ Don’t pour vinegar directly into the water tank (unless manufacturer allows)
❌ Don’t clean while plugged in
Pro tip
After cleaning, iron an old towel on steam to flush out any residue before using on clothes.
